Did you know that Magog is known for its beaches, tobogganing and trails? There is so much to discover in the Eastern Townships, we suggest starting now so you don't miss a thing!
For several years now, tourism in Magog has been booming. Presumably, this is a direct result of its perfect location: right near Lake Memphrémagog, a few hundred kilometers away from Montreal, barely 30 minutes away for the U.S. border and close to our chalets and condos. Smack dab in the middle of all the action, Magog has bikeways stretching over 27 kilometers and is home to approximately 30,000 people. With the Route Verte (a bikeway linking various regions of Quebec from East to West), activities are plentiful in the beautiful Town of Magog during winter and summer. Work up a sweat with wind surfing, volleyball, paddle boating, ice fishing, paragliding, skating on the Sentier Glacé (icy trail), skating at Merry Point ice rink and more.
Another popular attraction in the area: walking trails open all year round. The Marais de la Rivière aux Cerises, amongst others, is a must-see, on foot, snowshoes or by kayak. With 6 kilometers of trails brimming with a variety of wildlife and flora that make Magog a tourist region rich in things to discover, missing out is just not an option! What about the beautiful beaches on the shores of Lake Memphrémagog? They have received international Pavillon Bleu certification, which means they meet current environmental preservation standards.
